In February I announced my candidacy for the United States Congress and the amount of positive response received since then is both exciting and heartening.

I look forward to continuing to share my goals and listening to what the residents of the 1st Congressional District have to say over the coming months. My priorities are getting Rhode Islanders back to work and getting our economy back on a prosperous track. Washington needs leaders who are dedicated to producing a new way forward and I plan on being a leader in that process.

I grew up in a family that believes public service is an honorable pursuit and I feel privileged to have participated in various ways throughout my life. I want Rhode Island families to know I will work through the current political climate that puts party loyalty before the people and has left all of us discouraged and disillusioned these past few years.

I cannot do this alone. You will be an essential part to this grassroots campaign. With your help I am confident together we can forge a new way forward in Washington. Please take some time to fill out our volunteer form, join me on Facebook and Twitter, and sign up for the campaign’s email updates.

I will always put the people of Rhode Island first – before party, before politics and before partisanship – Rhode Island’s needs will be my highest priority.

Sincerely,
